We pride ourselves on being a pub that serves food rather than a restaurant that serves beer.

Our philosophy is a simple one: -

We ask that all meals should be ordered and paid for at the bar. If you wish to run a tab, no problem but we WILL require a credit/debit card, which will be kept in a Card Safe at the bar. Please remember to tell us where you are sitting. All meals are cooked in a strict order, whether they are a snack or a full-blown meal. During busy periods, this may mean a wait. We can only apologise for this and hope you understand. If possible, we will endeavour to advise you of the times involved.

Parties and Group Bookings

We would be pleased to discuss any group or party bookings you may have, whether it's for a private function or simply an evening meal with friends or family.

We are happy to accept bookings for coaches or mini buses by prior arrangement; we have a large car park, which can accommodate either with some ease.

Car or motor clubs are also welcome, again by arrangement. We have already played host to a number of motor clubs, so if you are on a tour of Dartmoor or doing coast to coast we may be well placed to service your needs.

Group bookings can be accommodated in either the dining room or in the games room.

Games Room

This is an upstairs venue with access from the bar area.

It is well equipped with:

Dartboard (darts held at the bar)
Pool table
Table football
Video games and
Jukebox

Being away from the bar area means the Games room is well-suited to private parties.

The room has been used for several 18+ Birthday Parties with great success.

A number of local sports teams (Hockey, Cricket and Football) have used the room for their match teas. Tavistock Hockey Club are regulars.

In addition who would like a traditional pub games evening or simply a Darts or Pool contest.

The Games Room can accommodate approx 30 people
It can be hired for private functions either lunchtime or evenings
The basic hire charge includes a standard buffet for up to 30 people (The standard buffet can of course be modified to suit your requirements)
Children and Dogs are allowed
It is a Smoking area

Please note: Children and Dogs are to be supervised in the Games Room at all times.

Dining Room

The Dining room has easy access from the bar area. As well as the main seated area it benefits from having a Conservatory (above photo) and direct access to the Patio, both of which have additional seating.

The combined area is well suited to private parties. In the past it has played host to Wedding Receptions, Birthday Parties, Retirement Parties and other special events, all with great success.

The close proximity to the bar allows for easy replenishment of drinks and a smoking area.

The combined area can comfortably hold 45 people seated,
It has access to the Patio area, which could be utilised for additional seating as required
It can be hired for private functions either lunchtime or evenings (suitable for small meetings, training sessions or seminars)
The basic hire charge includes a standard buffet for up to 30 people (the standard buffet can of course be modified to suit your requirements)
Children are allowed, but sorry no dogs,
It is a Non-Smoking area
Has direct kitchen service and separate toilets facilities
