Margaret Auerback

Margaret Auerback uses various printmaking techniques to create landscape images of abstract and stylised beauty. She describes her work as ‘a response to the landscape’ rather than an illustration of a particular place or scene. The images tend to end up with numbers rather than titles to indicate this emotional rather than figurative attitude.

Auerback’s works in the  collection have been purchased from her shows with the Richmond Printmakers and the Artichoke Print Workshop. The viewer is attracted to her work by constantly finding new features in her deceptively simple-looking images.

Preferring to work in collagraph and carborundum techniques, Auerback has recently begun to experiment further with drypoint and monoprints.

Her work is regularly exhibited at the Richmond Printmakers Gallery, Church Terrace, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1RW, United Kingdom.
