Jenny Sutton

Jenny Sutton gained a fine art degree from Reading University in 1966 and spent a postgraduate year at Hornsey studying design and typography. She worked as a designer before returning to full-time painting.

Sutton works in acrylic, oils and mixed media. She looks for subtle but resonant colour harmonies and combines these observations with a strong sense of design, frequently working in a limited palette. Her works depicting the Cornish landscape and Venetian backwaters show her particular eye for balanced composition.

In 1996 Sutton founded the St Barbe group of artists and now directs Hampshire Contemporary Artists Gallery in Lymington, Hampshire.
