Isobel Golt Morris

Isobel Golt Morris Isobel Golt Morris was born in Burnham, Bucks and now lives in Bristol. She always wanted to be an artist but was not encouraged in that direction when younger, however she always kept up her interest and used to make pottery, do weaving and photography. She studied Sociology and travelled in the USA & Africa. After various other jobs she became a teacher and then lived in Berlin for 5 years. Returning to the UK she began to make sculpture and do life drawing and more painting. She now studies with the Bristol Community Education Sculpture Group and at Bristol School of Art. Using a wide variety of materials she explores the space between figurative and abstract. Her vivid imagination transforms what she sees, giving her work a dreamlike, otherworldly quality, while her use of shape, colour & texture all combine to convey strong feelings.
